PNG Solar Project
Building an integrated energy, agriculture, forage, livestock and biomass ecosystem in Papua New Guinea.
Friendly Foundate is developing an integrated Agri-Energy project in Papua New Guinea, starting with solar energy infrastructure and expanding into agriculture, forage grass, livestock support, biomass pellets and circular energy use.
The project is designed to address two structural constraints in Papua New Guinea: reliable energy access and agricultural productivity.
Project Foundation: Solar Energy
The first phase focuses on solar energy infrastructure to provide reliable electricity for:
This creates the energy foundation for wider economic activity.
Integrated Development Model
The PNG project is designed to connect five development layers:
Solar Energy Infrastructure
Reliable clean electricity for agriculture and local development.
Food Crop Production
Rice and staple crop production using improved seeds, mechanisation and sustainable farming methods.
Forage Grass & Feed Systems
Forage grass and feed crop development to support livestock and local protein production.
Livestock & Rural Enterprise
Support for cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and related rural businesses.
Biomass Pellets & Circular Energy
Agricultural residues, forage and organic materials can be converted into biomass pellets or fuel, supporting heat, processing and energy resilience.
Why Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea has strong long-term demand for:
